Best to visit Florida before the hurricane season begins (June 1 thru Nov. 30.) However, if you visit during hurricane season you can still have a great time here. Florida has fine Doppler weather radar and the National Hurricane Center is located in Miami. Just listen to or watch the weather news on a daily basis. When a hurricane is approaching you will have time to drive or fly to another place in Florida. Stay out of the projected path of the storm. You could ride a train to distant cities.

During rainy season it normally never rains all day. There may be rain showers which come and go. If you are renting a car with a convertible top, always put the top up every time you park outside. You don't want an unexpected surprise when you return to the vehicle.
